New Year

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Happy New Year everyone! 2017! Could it be the year of the Beach Buds blog? Well, we are so busy walking dogs, changing cat litter, and feeding turtles its tough to sit down and just write. Last year we added dog training to our list of many services. It has become almost as popular as our walking service. With so few trainers based in Long Beach, this was a must have for Beach Buds! Our lead trainer, Jordan, has helped with many issues such as pulling on the leash, food aggression, and dog vs dog aggression to name a few. Beach Buds plans on doing much more with training and even some in store events. Follow us on Facebook @facebook.com/beachbudsdogwalking and Instagram @beachbuds_lb to see cute dogs and cats and some special deals.

Blog blog blog

Thursday, September 8th, 2016

We’re not the most consistent with our blog but, now we’re back at it again. Hopefully this time we can stick with it and provide a little more content. We meet tons of dog walkers nowadays and that’s great. People have so many options when they go away or work long days without feeling guilty about leaving their pet. Of course budget is important but we want to share why a professional pet sitter is so important. Yes, you can use the neighbor’s kid. Yes, you can use a family member or friend but will they do the job with the specific skills needed? As a professional pet sitter, we are there with one goal. Care for your pet as if it is our own. A professional pet sitter is not rushing so they can go out with friends or on their phone while walking the dog. They only have the interest of the dog or cat in mind. In case of an emergency, pet sitters have a set plan on the quickest way to handle things. Pet sitters will correct pet behavior issues, give pills or administer intravenous meds with no problem. This job makes the lives of pet owners easier by knowing they are in great hands. Even though your dog or cat see’s you packing a few suitcases and they know your going away, pet sitters keep that daily routine for them. We can turn lights on and off and bring in mail so your house doesn’t look empty. This post is just to share the importance of who you choose to come into your house and care for your fur baby. A professional pet sitter encourages the use of pet/nanny/security camera’s in the house so clients can see the excellent job they do. Whether you use Beach Buds or someone else, we hope this information is helpful to you or someone you know.

It’s Fall

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014

autumn-dogsWe haven’t posted in a long time. We’ll be back at it for sure. Today is the first day of Fall. It’s a great time for dog walking. The temps are just right and dogs don’t feel to hot or cold. We could walk all day, and we do, but your dog will always let us know when they’re done. We look forward to seeing costumes on our puppies for Halloween. Maybe we’ll even have a Beach Buds Halloween Party. Stay tuned!

4 year anniversary!

Thursday, April 24th, 2014

We just want to thank everyone that has supported Beach Buds Dog Walking. If you have used us for just 1 walk or on a regular basis, we greatly appreciate it. From the beginning, Beach Buds started off with just 3 or 4 clients in one garden apartment building in Long Beach. We have luckily grown to over 200 clients in every town from Atlantic Beach to Point Lookout, Island Park to Rockville Centre. We have added two amazing walkers that are the perfect addition to Beach Buds. It really is unbelievable to see a dream become reality.

Although we are for the dogs (and cats), Beach Buds strives to provide the best customer service. The whole idea behind our company is to make your life easier. When you set up a dog walk or cat visit with us, we will be there. We love to send pics, texts and post your dog on our Facebook page.

We thank you again and will continue to provide premium service to the community we love.

Happy Halloween 2013

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

Our first post in a long time, we know. Since we all missed Halloween last year due to a girl named Sandy we wanted to make sure to celebrate this year. Beach Buds will be out walking and hopes to see lots of great costumes and scary things. Does your pet have a costume? Show us on Facebook. Have a scary day!

Foxy Roxy with tricks

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013

We love Roxy. She is so smart. She is a very active PWD (Portuguese Water Dog). Since we’ve started walking her we’ve watched her close her own cage door, jump through hoola hoops and onto tall tables and now jump onto small tree stumps. Roxy really should be on a talent show to show off these amazing talents of hers.

New Roxy to Beach BudsThis is beautiful Roxy. Our second Roxy client in fact. She is a 7 year old labradoodle. Roxy has a great colored coat, brown with some grey coming through. She’s got the distinguished look of a mature dog even though she’s only a middle aged woman. Roxy has been enjoying her walks with Beach Buds in Long Beach. She really loved her rub down after the rainy walk we had today.

Hurricane Sandy

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

Beach Buds Dog Walking hopes that all of our friends remained safe during Hurricane Sandy. We are thinking of you all and can’t wait to return home like everyone else.

Some new fall friends

Belle is a great dog that we get to care for twice a day. You may remember our first post from Belle about a year ago. She started off as an abandoned dog on the streets of Queens till around 1 year old. At around 5 years old Belle moved to Long Beach where suburbia was a foreign land. Walking on a leash was brand new to her. She also hated cars passing by and was afraid of any siren going off. Belle would pull so hard on her walk that she would choke herself for minutes.

Within months, we were able to help Belle become a obedient, calm dog. She loves having a scheduled walk in the morning and the late afternoon. She’s still working on becoming a little more friendly with other dogs but she is making huge progress.

Lily & Sissy

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Cat sitting for two cool cats is our favorite. These two feline’s are beach cats for sure enjoying the west end of LB. Sissy is a little more timid but still loves playing with her strings. It looks like she is queen of her cat castle in this picture. Lily was ready ready to jump in front of the camera.
